capitalist mecenaries
if you haven't realized already, The Straits Times is going to charge for usage of its online interactive services from Apr 1st onwards. Yes, the news site that most Singaporeans in Ann Arbor (at least to my knowledge) visit to keep up with current affairs in SG. I cant believe it; cannot possibly think what kind of marketing strategy those bigwigs at the headquarters of the Straits Times are thinking. It's an outrage, really. Charging for information when more-established sites such as the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune maintain free-access sites. There've been calls for boycotting the Straits Times' services. Looks like i'll have to visit the Channelnewsasia website instead from now on.
