the SIA commercials

Basically writing this down because i'm tired of repeating this story. Henceforth i can refer people to my blog is they wanna know about this rather peculiar story of mine. Here goes:

Ever flown the friendly skies? Ever looked at the air hostesses/hosts and wondered, " Damn would i give a leg to be just like them?" Well we all know that SIA (Singapore Airlines) have the best stewards and stewardesses in the industry. I'm not even going to start illustrating how the competition measures up (think NWA, or example). Well here's the juicy part of the story: I've a guy friend, who shall go only by the name of Bambi, cos he likes the army so much. He thinks the world of the SIA stewards. Think that the profession is noble and well-respected; in fact, he dreams of making it as a steward himself, foresaking college and all. Here's the spanner in the block: he's not, well, not exactly Mr Universe himself. Well maybe he's Mr. Universe if that universe is peculiar and consists only of eating hamburgers at Wendy's (fast food joint), but yea let's leave it at that. Anyway, he goes on and on about how he wants to be one; to demostrate his passion for the job he has acquired, by i-dunno-what means, an SIA uniform. Let's just say that he looks better in other clothes.

Anyway, me and my peeps have this inside joke. You know that SIA has a new jetliner in their assortment of planes, the new A80? (or issit A30? i'm not sure) Anyways, We have 3 ideas about how they should film these commericals, with Bambi as the new spokesman for the campaign. Here goes:

3. A video of the new jet flying in the blue skies. Cut to to a plane landing scene. Cut to scene with passengers on the walkway, being greeted by friendly stewards as they leave the jet. Zoom in on Bambi, one of the passengers alighting. Screen caption, " The New A80. Now you can carry more luggage onboard."

2. In-flight scene. Steward is pushing cart down the alley, asking people for their favored meal. "Beef or chicken sir?" Bambi now walks past the cart comfortably, seemingly headed for the aft area. Screen caption,"The New A80. With (much) wider Alleys for your comfort."

1. In flight scene. Bambi as the steward, serving drinks to the passengers. "Coffee, tea or me?" Screen caption," The New A80. Our prices just hit-rock bottom."
